WEEKEND TRIP

Itinerary

DAY 01

Ride 50-60 km [L,D]

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Island

We depart at 7:00 AM  and transfer one hour to a favorite coffee shop for your bike fitting.  From here, we begin our adventure pedaling through the rice paddies on narrow and elevated paths which offer countless opportunities for spectacular photos of the verdant landscapes of the Mekong region.

The first segment of the day’s journey features lightly trafficked, mostly paved country roads, protected from the sun by attentive lines of coconut trees. After 15 such km, we arrive at our first river crossing – a tributary of the Mekong River. While we wait for the local ferry, we will refill our energies with a healthy snack and some cold water.

While the next segment’s cycling is relaxed and non-technical, we do offer a shuttle to our finishing destination in lieu of continuing to ride. Our transport vehicle and private shuttle will be standing by to ensure that these riders have the support they need to thoroughly enjoy their day.

At the ride’s end we will all meet up at different riverside stops, for a relaxing 1-hour tour on a private boat along one of the most beautiful of the region’s waterways.   We arrive at a local restaurant where we will be treated to authentic Mekong cuisine and adult beverages.  Here you will also have an opportunity to refresh with a cold shower before our boat carries us to hidden charm Mekong farm-stay.
