Discover a hidden side of Vietnam on this immersive cycling tour. After a morning pickup in Saigon, take a short transfer south before setting off on a scenic 35km ride. Pedal along riverside paths, passing fish farms and shrimp aquaculture before crossing the Saigon River by local ferry.
On the opposite bank, cycle through peaceful villages, salt fields, and oyster farms, getting a glimpse of daily life in rural Vietnam. After 22km, arrive at Can Gio National Park, a UNESCO-listed mangrove biosphere. Ride along a winding single-track path through dense forest, spotting unique trees and wildlife along the way.
At the heart of the park, climb the observatory tower for a stunning panoramic view of the mangrove reserve. Finish the journey with a delicious traditional South Vietnamese lunch before returning to Saigon in the late afternoon.
Itinerary
7:30 am pickup from your hotel followed by a 45 mins van transfer to a cafe south of Saigon where the Mr Biker Saigon team will make sure everyone’s ready to ride.
Ride about 35km
We'll get on the bikes and cycle along riverside paths for 7 km, passing fish farms and shrimps aquacultures until we reach a bend in the river. At the bend, the local ferry will take you and your bike to the other side of the Saigon River.
Once on the opposite bank, you will continue cycling through small authentic farmer villages. You’ll pass salt fields, oyster farms, and a number of edible bird nest growers. After 22 km, you’ll reach the Can Gio national park.
The National Park’s entrance will be crossed through a single track path in the middle of the mangrove forest. As you delve deeper in the park, you’ll get to view the area’s unique trees and wildlife. Once at the center of the park, you will leave your bike and go up to the impressive observatory tower to get a panorama view of Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve.
We’ll finish the day with a lunch of traditional South Vietnamese foods before returning to Saigon and arriving at 5:30 pm.
