Trip Overview
This 10-day cycling journey takes you from the energy of Saigon to the timeless charm of Hoi An, blending mountain riding, coastal roads, cultural encounters, and moments of reflection along the way.
The adventure begins with a bike fitting and welcome dinner in Saigon before heading north into the Central Highlands. Ride through banana groves, coffee farms, and tea plantations on the way to Bảo Lộc and Đà Lạt, where cooler air, pine forests, and steady climbs define the rhythm of the road.
From the highlands, the route drops dramatically toward the sea, delivering long descents and sweeping views as you reach the beaches of Nha Trang. A rest day allows time to recharge, explore local markets, or visit ancient Cham towers before continuing along Vietnam’s most scenic coastline.
The coastal stages pass through fishing villages, lagoons, sugarcane fields, and quiet countryside roads, with highlights including Đèo Cả Pass, Vũng Rô Bay, Ô Loan Lagoon, and historic landmarks such as Mằng Lăng Church. The ride slows as it approaches Quảng Ngãi, where a visit to the Mỹ Lai Memorial offers a powerful and reflective pause in the journey.
The final transfer brings you to Hội An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its preserved architecture, lantern-lit evenings, and relaxed pace — a fitting place to conclude an adventure that balances physical challenge, cultural depth, and the everyday beauty of Vietnam.

Xin chào! Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon – once called the Pearl of the Far East during the French Indochina era.
Today is all about settling in and getting ready for the journey ahead. At 4:00 PM, we’ll meet for a bike fitting at the Mr Biker Trung Sơn Store (24 Street No. 6, Trung Sơn Residence, Bình Chánh District). This is where you’ll be introduced to the Mr Biker crew — your cycling guides, mechanics, and the support drivers who will accompany you all the way from Saigon to Hoi An.
After the fitting, we’ll head out for a welcome dinner, a relaxed chance to meet your fellow riders and ease into Vietnamese food and culture. Following dinner, we’ll take you back to the hotel and point out nearby spots where you can enjoy a short evening walk or a quiet drink if you’re still feeling energetic.
Rest well — tomorrow, the real adventure begins.
Cycling Distance: 62 km
Elevation Gain: 500 m
Accommodation: Sandals Vista Hotel or similar
Let’s start the trip with early morning departure, leave the hotel by 6:00 AM, enjoying a leisurely breakfast along the way as we leave the busy Ho Chi Minh city behind and journey toward the highlands and mountains. Later in the morning, we take to our bikes and officially begin our cycling adventure amid the changing landscapes.
Later in the morning, we hop on our bikes and officially start the ride in Định Quán District, an area framed by banana groves, mango orchards, and climbing black pepper vines. Smiles from local farmers and curious kids are constant companions along the road. Cycling toward Tà Lài Village and the edge of Nam Cát Tiên Forest, we pass through land traditionally inhabited by the Chơ Ro and Mạ ethnic groups. The ride offers a mix of flat roads and gradual climbs. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant by the river bank.
In the afternoon, we enjoy about one hour of easy pedaling to wrap up the ride before transferring to Bảo Lộc, a highland town known for its tea plantations and cooler temperatures. Dinner tonight is a casual moment to share highlights from the day and settle into the slower pace of the mountains.
Cycling distance: 63 km
Elevation gain: 950m
Meals provided: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Colline Hotel or similar
Today’s ride carries you deeper into the Central Highlands, heading toward Đà Lạt, famous for its cool climate and layered mountain scenery. Expect challenging climbs rewarded by sweeping views of coffee farms, tea hills, and forested valleys.
Di Linh District — where today’s cycling begins — is often nicknamed the Kingdom of Robusta. Coffee trees stretch across the hillsides, and we’ll pause along the way to see how coffee cherries grow before transforming into the beans that fuel the world’s morning rituals.
Lunch is simple and local, enjoyed at a roadside restaurant along the route. Afterward, we roll the pedals uphill again, climbing through lush tea plantations where the air turns cooler and the views wider.
In the afternoon, we transfer to Đà Lạt and settle in for the night.
Đà Lạt is a favorite weekend escape for Vietnamese travelers seeking fresh air and a slower pace. After dinner, a relaxed walk around the central market is a great way to experience the city’s evening energy — colorful, lively, and unmistakably local.
Cycling Distance: 80 km – 100 km
Elevation Gain: 1500 m
Accommodation: Sunrise Nha Trang or similar
We depart Đà Lạt, the city of pine forests, and ride toward the beach city of Nha Trang, descending from the highlands down to the coastal plains. Today’s route is a well-balanced mix: uphill at the beginning, a long downhill stretch mid-ride, and flat roads toward the end.
The highlight of the day is a long, scenic descent through mountain passes and wide valleys. There’s no need to pedal here — just control your speed, steer smoothly, and let gravity do the work while you soak in the views. Feel free to stop anytime for photos of the pass and the surrounding landscape. We regroup at the bottom of the pass and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, featuring simple Vietnamese comfort food – grilled pork served with steamed rice and seasonal vegetables.
In the afternoon, we continue pedaling past sugarcane plantations before transferring to our hotel in Nha Trang, where you’ll stay for the next two nights. Tonight’s dinner is well earned – the perfect moment to laugh, relax, and trade stories about all the climbs we’ve conquered so far.

Accommodation: Sunrise Nha Trang or similar
Today is a well-earned rest day to slow things down and enjoy Nha Trang’s coastal vibe. Spend the day lounging on the beach, swimming in the sea, or exploring the city at your own pace — from seaside cafés to the lively Nha Trang Market (Chợ Đầm). For those who feel like adding a cultural touch, just walk to Po Nagar Cham Towers is highly recommended. Built in AD 781, this Cham sanctuary is one of the oldest surviving historical sites in Vietnam and offers great views over the Nha Trang Main River.
Breakfast is included at the hotel. Lunch and dinner are on your own, giving you the freedom to explore local eateries and experience authentic central Vietnamese coastal cuisine. If you ask any local for a food recommendation, chances are they’ll point you straight to Bún Chả Cá — a light, flavorful noodle soup served with fish cake and fresh tuna. Simple, honest, and very Nha Trang.
Cycling Distance: 80 – 85 km
Accommodation: Sala Tuy Hoa Beach Hotel or similar
In the morning, we drive out of Nha Trang toward Vạn Giã fishing village, where local life starts early. You’ll see fishermen and traders busy with their morning routines – buying and selling seafood right at small street-side market. From here, we begin cycling through coastal villages, a perfect chance to exchange countless “Xin Chào” with locals. Kids on their way to and from primary and secondary school often ride two wheels just like us, filling the road with energy and smiles.
Before lunch, we tackle a 7 km climb averaging around 5% — the legendary Đèo Cả Pass, where mountains meet the ocean. On a sunny day, the views are spectacular: deep blue water, clusters of blue fishing boats resting in the bay, and dramatic coastal cliffs. After the pass, enjoy a long descent into Vũng Rô Bay, home to hundreds of thousands of lobsters living in underwater cages beneath the calm surface. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we face a few more short climbs along the coastline, rewarded with views toward Mũi Điện Lighthouse, Vietnam’s easternmost point on the mainland. From there, we continue cycling all the way to our hotel in Tuy Hòa – another beach city, quieter and more laid-back, where you can relax and enjoy ocean views straight from your room. Dinner tonight is on your own. That said, if you’d like to join Mr Biker’s crew for a very local meal, you’re more than welcome — the table is always open.
Cycling Distance: 55 – 60 km
Accommodation: Fleur de Lys Qui Nhon or similar
After breakfast, we start cycling straight from the hotel. The ride begins with an easy cruise through Tuy Hòa, stopping for photos at Tháp Nghinh Phong – the city’s modern welcome symbol facing the sea. From there, the route leads us through coastal fishing villages and along Ô Loan Lagoon, where locals farm fish, clams, shrimp, and crabs in calm, shallow waters – a beautiful snapshot of everyday coastal life in central Vietnam.
Lunch today is simple and local, enjoyed at a restaurant near an ocean. After lunch, there’s a short climb, followed by mostly flat riding until we reach Mằng Lăng Church, built in 1892 and considered one of the oldest Catholic churches in Vietnam. In the afternoon, we transfer to Quy Nhơn, another beach city with a lively, distinctly local energy. Our hotel sits right on the beachfront, where you can join locals playing volleyball as the sun drops toward the horizon.
Dinner tonight is on your own. Just a short walk from the hotel, you’ll find plenty of seafood restaurants ready to serve the day’s freshest catch.
Cycling Distance: 70 km
Accommodation: NewCC Hotel or similar
After breakfast, we take a van transfer out of the city to avoid the busy rush-hour traffic before starting the ride. Chùa Ông Núi – where today’s cycling begins — sits high on a mountain overlooking the coast. This is an important spiritual site for local Buddhist worshippers who come here to pray and practice their faith. The monumental 70‑meter seated Buddha statue rests against the mountainside, believed to offer spiritual protection to the surrounding communities.
The morning ride includes three gentle climbs, each rewarded with wide views of the deep blue ocean below. From there, we continue through several coastal villages, where countless smiles and enthusiastic greetings from local children make every kilometer feel lighter. Lunch is simple and local, enjoyed along the route. In the afternoon, we pedal at an easy, relaxed pace, soaking in the rhythms of the Vietnamese countryside — rice fields, small homes, and daily life unfolding quietly along the road.
After a full day on the bike, treat yourself to a cold beer courtesy of the Mr Biker team, then sit back and relax during the transfer to Quảng Ngãi. Tonight, we gather for dinner together, enjoying tasty salads, fried rice, and fried noodles – the perfect way to end a long but rewarding day.
Cycling Distance: 50 km
Accommodation: Emerald Hoi An Riverside or similar
Our day begins with a visit to the Mỹ Lai Memorial, the site of one of the most tragic atrocities of the Vietnam War. The museum visit offers a sobering and powerful moment of reflection, providing historical context and human perspective before we continue our journey.
Afterward, we set off on the final cycling day of the adventure. Carrying those reflections quietly with us, the ride leads onto peaceful village roads through lush rice paddies and small fishing communities, where colorful basket boats dot the landscape. The terrain is gentle, with a few rolling hills before reaching lunch.
Following our final lunch, where the ride officially comes to an end, we transfer to Hội An — a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved architecture, intimate scale, and the warm glow of lanterns that light up the Old Town after sunset. The evening is yours to begin exploring this remarkable town at your own pace. Later, we’ll come together in town for a farewell dinner, a chance to celebrate the journey we’ve shared from Saigon to Hội An.
